Privacy Policy

1. Information we collect

• Account details: name, email address, password credentials, date of birth.
• Profile content: profile photograph (required), sailing experience, goals, HUB and team membership, coach notes about you.
• Activity data: time on the water, session logs, fitness sessions and check-ins, imported activity files (GPX, FIT, TCX, VKX) including GPS tracks, timestamps, distance and speed.
• Certification data: self-assessments, coach assessments, sign-offs, comments and certificates.
• Media: photographs, video and audio you or your coach upload, and images or footage captured of you at USFoil, WASZP, FOILFAST or affiliated events, clinics and regattas.
• Parent/guardian details for athletes under 18, and the consent record associated with them.
• Technical data: log data, device and browser information, and usage events.

2. How we use information

We use information to operate the Platform, verify eligibility, administer HUB and team membership, track development and certification, communicate with athletes, parents and coaches, produce leaderboards and recognition, improve coaching and programming, and promote USFoil and foiling generally.

3. Sharing — authorised entities

By using the Platform you expressly authorise USFoil to share, disclose, publish, reproduce and otherwise use your information, data, photographs, video and audio with and by FOILFAST, WASZP, KA Sail, their parent, subsidiary and affiliated companies, distributors, licensees, sponsors, class associations and other related entities, without limitation as to purpose, media, territory, duration or frequency, and without further notice, approval, compensation or attribution to you.

This authorisation includes commercial, promotional, marketing, editorial, coaching, research and event uses, in any medium now known or later developed.

4. Other sharing

We may also share information with:

• Your HUB coaches, Head Coaches and USFoil-wide coaches, who can view your profile, activity, fitness and certification records.
• Other outside organisations in the ordinary course, including sailing clubs, class associations, national governing bodies, event organisers, regatta and results services, sponsors, selectors, colleges and educational or team programmes, media outlets, and service providers who host, email, store and process data on our behalf.
• Authorities or third parties where we believe disclosure is required by law or appropriate to protect rights, safety or property.
• An acquirer or successor in connection with any reorganisation or transfer.

5. Public visibility

Recognition of athlete achievement is a core purpose of the Platform. Leaderboards, celebration cards and similar features are public by default. You may opt out of public visibility at any time in the Privacy section at the bottom of My Profile. Opting out does not withdraw the authorisation in Section 3 or affect anything already published.

6. Athletes under 18

Athletes under 18 must supply a parent or guardian email at sign-up. The parent or guardian receives a consent request and must consent before the account is approved. The parent or guardian consents on the athlete’s behalf to this Policy and to the Terms of Use, including the authorisations in Section 3. Parents may use our Contact Us form to review or withdraw consent going forward.

7. Security and retention

Access is restricted by role and enforced at the database level. No system is perfectly secure and we do not guarantee absolute security. We retain records for as long as your account is active and afterwards as needed for coaching history, certification records, legal obligations and legitimate business purposes. Media and data already shared under Section 3 may be retained and used indefinitely by the authorised entities.

8. Your choices

You can view and update your profile, photo and details at any time in My Profile, opt out of public visibility, or request deletion of your account through our Contact Us form. Deletion does not require us or any authorised entity to recall, remove or stop using material already shared or published.

9. Changes

We may update this Policy at any time. Continued use of the Platform after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
